Summer Halls 02:51
Summer Halls Take me. Take you Take me away from bad news Inside a city stew Take me to pastures new Waterfalls and curtain calls Memories before the fall Take me. With You I’m on the road to somewhere new Rain falls from northern skies White light blinds my eyes Caravans and trader calls Memories of market stalls Take me. Take you Take me away from bad news Bands playing out of time Towing the party line Shattered glass and empty walls Memories of summer halls Take me. With You I’m on the road to somewhere new Take me. Take you Take me away from bad news

God On A Wire Fractured words inside my head I’m waiting for my god He rescues me from quiet things and all the things I’ve lost Through endless days he talked to me - of words I know ain’t true But despite his tales of yesteryear - I knew Shaking trees and submarines I’m heading for a fall He saved me from a silent place and questioned me ‘til dawn Despite the words he told to me to me - of things I thought I knew But all his jaded prophesies – came true A basket case, I’m tempting fate, I’m the king of standing tall He talks to me of sacred things and all the things I’m not His reckless ways, his wayward days - his songs I thought I knew But cravings from my sanctuary – outgrew Falling like a stone Second-guessing, hesitating A heart is not a home Action stations, contemplations When heads begin to roll But I will sleep on a bed-of-nails and that you know ain’t true When the god upon a wire – visits you Like a god upon a wire – we’ll pray for you Like the god upon a wire He’ll swing for you

The Glitter Ball Pause to breathe - the heat is on – a painted ladder to the stars, the sun. A sense of heat – we cool our feet – a distant drone through the night. Outside, they search for souls - lost on a planet that we call our own. But on the beach, they hear the beat - a distant journey to the stars. There was a time that we once knew when all possessions were once bright and new. A slight of hand – a trick of light – all that matters is the night. In this dark and airless place Without walls - without space Don’t forget to close your eyes Don’t forget the glittering prize Can you hear the siren’s call? Can you see the golden dawn? Slowly spins the glitter ball Stop to talk – I hear you sigh – the others left us when the well ran dry. I state the facts – I need to sleep – I dream of colours of the deep. Above our heads a fading sun – but no one told us which way to run. I check my watch, I note the time – I gather everything that’s mine. There was a place that we once knew where people gathered like the chosen few. A flash of light – a glitter ball – but all that’s left here is the dark In this dark and airless place Without walls - without space Don’t forget to close your eyes Don’t forget the glittering prize Can you hear the siren’s call? Can you see the golden dawn? Slowly spins the glitter ball Slowly spins the glitter ball

A Fateful Day Wading through this pestilence, I swim against the tide Looking for the learned ones I used to know Millions choose to battle monsters, but I choose to stay Ridden of possessions on that fateful day Armed to the teeth with a bucket loads of smiles Searching for my values in my uniform The ghosts of all my comrades they stand out in the rain Weather-beaten souls in this passion play Long-lost sons who lost the fight, they gather on this morn The privileged will have their price to pay Counting out the seconds in a different place and time Long-lost ghosts of those I used to know Long-lost sons - looking for a price to pay Forgotten tales of fury – drift away I will stand and battle monsters If I choose to stay All my favourite songs in disarray Batten down the hatches on this fateful day

Silence Changes Out in the fields I can see the storm approaching Out in the fields with me Shadows in the trees I can see the colours changing Shadows on the leaves Inside, the walls are closing in Outside, I don’t know where I’ve been Something that you saw somewhere on the new horizon Something that you saw with me Everything you do, everything has consequences Everything you do to me Inside, the silence tastes of tin Outside, the silence changes everything We walk the zones. We will atone This bird has flown. Time will carry on We walk the zones. We will atone This bird has flown. Time will carry on Dressed up like the nines counting out a different timing Dressed up like the nines with me Sharpening our knives changing hands and pulling punches Sharpening the knife with me Inside, the rituals begin Outside, the pulling of the strings Inside, the rituals begin Outside, the silence changes everything

Beyond the Blue This case is closed Take the time to gaze upon A world - unknown A million tiny stars It came to pass A distant sun on low horizon For those outside A song to ponder on Don’t you - forget that time Stretches out beyond the blue Remnants of a distant drone that echoes slowly ‘round this town Reveal a different side to you Losing time in subways Freaking out on cross-fades There are many shades of blue The light has shone Illuminating empty shadows A world - outgrown Just books to ponder on A shooting-star Lighting up the frozen houses To glimpse inside Reveals a siren’s song

Burning Castles Watching all the lightning strikes up on manifold I can see the city lights from there Was it all a dream, or just the consequence of light? Searching for the answers in the dark Waiting for the sparks to fly. Watching all the passers-by I’m Chasing burning embers through the air Remembering that dream when there was sunlight in your eyes When records skipped and no one seemed to care Am I just at odds with the complexities of life? I’m waiting for the crowds to disappear Fishing in a deep blue sky. Sinking ships and lullabies I’m chasing burning castles everywhere Waiting for the sparks to fly. Breaking free of family ties I’m chasing burning castles everywhere.

Landslide 05:20
Landslide A house in the sun A place where I can sit and watch the world go by A heart in a home In a world, that’s oh-so far away A face on a beach Countless names to countless faces that’ll never meet A place in your heart Is a place, that I don’t really need Ghosts in the morning air now the haze is lifting Sunlight through my window – I begin to unwind Seasons come & seasons go But life stays the same, one year after year One landslide after landslide One landslide after landslide One landslide after landslide But meanwhile, I’ll stay at home A place in the sun People talking, people changing, I know I’m one A heart in a home, in a world that’s oh-so far away A girl on a beach Hungry children, starving millions that she’ll never meet A place in a world, in a time, that is so very near

Kin 04:19
Kin Stopwatch – counting time, I can see the harbour lights Outside, my window – it looks like rain Phantom lights that I used to follow Strange sounds - that linger in the air Looks like I’m lost again, but I can see the road ahead Inside, my hurricane – it starts to rain Signposts and warning signs, a scattering of runway lights Inside, my glass cage – lit like a stage Siren song, maybe you could sing along Heavy waves - crashing through my head Looks like we’re back again, so I can see the sights my friend Inside, my aeroplane – my kin remain We can sing – the song begins We are kin – believe! We can sing – the song begins She is kin to me Spotlights – shine so bright, puncturing the city night Full-stops and question marks – litter my page Phantom lights, that I used to follow Strange sounds - that linger in the air Looks like the coast is clear, but I don’t need no souvenir I’ll fly my paper plane – out in the rain We can sing – the song begins We are kin – believe! We can sing – the song begins She is kin to me We can sing – the song begins We are kin – believe! We can sing – the song begins She can sing to me We can sing – the song begins We are kin – believe! We can sing – the song begins She is kin to me

Silent World 04:37
Silent World Feel the heat on the back of my neck Watch the lights all change as you drive by One last kiss – One last smile One last kiss – One last smile In my silent world In my silent world In my silent world In my silent world Call a name out in an empty hall See their faces change as you tell your news No chance to talk – no time to lie No chance to talk – no time to lie
